Service Opportunities

Wrestling Service Oppurtunity

Good Afternoon!

My name is Katie Walrad, and I am the co-chair for the upcoming Observerland Wrestling Tournament held this Saturday  January 30th (9 am to 8 pm) in the Fieldhouse.

Our team  is smaller than in prior years (due to graduating senior last year) and we are in desperate need of 4 - 6 students to sell programs / T shirts or sell Pizza in the cafeteria.  Times would be

11 am - 1 pm  or

12 (noon) - 2 pm  or

1pm - 3pm

I realize that this is a late request, but if any students are able to help it would be SO VERY MUCH Appreciated!

Also, this is an annual activity scheduled for the last Saturday in January every year. This tournament hosts 16 area schools and we would be open to having NHS students helping out.  Maybe you could add us to your schedule? (if you have one)

Regardless, anything you can do in the short term for this Saturday, as I said, would be so great.  If you have any questions, please call me on my cell phone at 734-741-3999.

Thanks very much for your time

Fall Festival Service Oppurtunity!

Add Date here

Hi! My name is Adrianne Hosking and I teach here at CHS in the Autism program. I also have a son in the acat program at Webster elementary and I am part of the PTA.

On 10/23 I will be putting on the Fall Festival. I am asking that any students here at CHS who need hours for volunteering help out at this event. I had a hand full of kids helping in the winter at the sock hop, and it worked out wonderfully. The kids will be helping with games, serving pizza, and also helping decide on best costume.

It is from 6-8, so I would need kids from 5:45-8:30. They can work as much or little as they need and I can let them know what they will be doing. Thaks so much! You can have the kids email me directly or come see me in F27 :)

Webster's Yearly Sock-Hop Event

Friday, February 5th from 6-8:30

On Friday, February 5th Webster Elementary School is having their yearly Sock-Hop. The event itself will be from 6-8:30, but volunteers should expect to arrive prior to the start of the event. Volunteers will be helping with games, and serving pizza among other things.

If there are any further questions regarding the event, or if you are interested in volunteering, please email Ms. Hosking at ahosking@livoniapublicschools.org

Service at the YMCA

"My name is Katie Copeland and I am the Volunteer Coordinator at the Livonia Family YMCA. It is my responsibility to recruit and place volunteers at our YMCA, in several areas.

These areas include Aquatics (pool service including life guard assistance, swim class assistance, maintaining the pool and deck cleanliness), Customer Service (member greeting and assistance as well as office filing), Child Care (volunteering with young children), Youth Sports (coaching assisting), Wellness and Fitness (keeping our workout facility organized and clean), Fundraising (working closely with our Annual campaign staff to raise money for scholarships), Building and Grounds (garden planting and grounds maintenance) and Special Events.

Within each of these areas I have several opening to fill throughout the year.

We do require that all volunteers be at least 16 years of age to volunteer independently. If not, you may volunteer under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. If you will be attending one of these meetings and you are under 16 years of age, please bring a parent or guardian with you. We also do NOT honor and court ordered community service.

If you would like to schedule a meeting and begin the process to become a volunteer here at the Livonia YMCA, please contact me and we can get started. I am looking forward to hearing from you and thank you again for your interest in volunteering at the Livonia Family YMCA."
